The Bible Talks’ (TBT) is a non-denominational Christian organisation at the University of KwaZulu Natal.

At TBT we aim to help you hear God speak as His Word, the Bible, is faithfully and clearly taught. We believe that the Bible is all about salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ and so we endeavour to teach people this! We run group bible studies in the res’s, and services on Sunday and Friday lunchtimes. We also arrange one on one Bible studies and other meetings. As the Scriptures about the Lord Jesus are explained, it is our belief that the Holy Spirit is at work in God’s power, changing and transforming lives.

We have members from all year groups, and a variety of different courses. Everyone is welcome!! Click on the ‘your campus’ link to find out more details….

Our need: We believe that humankind was created to rule the world under a loving and committed Creator, God. We believe that humankind refused to be ruled by the loving creator, and rebelled against Him. As a result, humankind has infuriated God, incurring His wrath to be against us. The Bible tells us that God will not allow us to rebel forever. His punishment for our rebellion is death and judgement.

God’s response: Being unable to do anything about this situation ourselves, our judge [God] has mercy on us and puts into action a plan of rescue. God, the offended party, decides to have mercy on the offenders by paying the price for rebellion against God, himself. He does this by becoming a man [the Lord Jesus Christ] and dying on the cross in our place, thus taking the punishment and dying the death that we deserved. Jesus rose from the dead as the judge of the world. Having survived death, he now has the right to call for a response.

The only response: The Bible records only two responses to this news. We accept God’s plan for rescue by relying on the death of Jesus to bring us forgiveness and on His resurrection to give us hope of surviving death. Alternately we can ignore God’s plan, continuing to run life on our own. We believe that there cannot be any spiritual life without the death of Jesus. There cannot be any hope for life after death without the resurrection of Jesus.
